Hey all -
I have a 2010 2-door JK and found a pretty good rust spot when I was poking around today. Luckily, the main frame of my jeep seems to be in good condition still, but there's one crossbar at the rear just behind my bumper. It's not the main frame, but appears to be bolted to the underside of the tub...can anyone identify this piece for me and give an idea of how much of a headache it's going to be to patch (or replace, if that's possible...)?

Looks like the rear body mount to me? It's rotted out on just the driver side, rest of it appears to be in good shape. Probably not the easiest thing to get in and clean up...

Hey greyjayk, i have the same problem on an ‘08 jku tub i just picked up.. heres what i found:
Yes that is the rear tub body mount crossmember.. mine is rotted on both sides pretty bad.

Im new as well, not sure if i can post links, but i found a couple good pieces of documentation:

1st is from ‘its a jeep world’ (body panels - group 60) shows good exploded diagrams

https://itsajeepworld.com/wp-conten...st-Group-60-Body-Sheet-Metal-Except-Doors.pdf

2nd is from ‘mopar repair connect ca’ and shows pretty much where all the spot welds are, and how everything is put together..

https://www.moparrepairconnect.ca/assets/docs/collision/jeep-wrangler.pdf

With all that said, actually finding one may be interesting.. ive seen a few places list it as unavailable, but im sure somebody has one for each of us.. lol

Part # i have for reference is 55395682AC (#6 in photo)

Hope this helps…

Mine are bad on my 2013 JK 2-door but I'm lucky enough to be a welder I'm going to make a set for mine cut the old ones out and reweld in the new ones if you know somebody might be possible for them to do it for you or a shop that is capable

I think thats the way im going to go with mine too… weld in a couple pieces of 3” square tube and send it.. not going to be shy welding on this build..going to fab as much as i possibly can… including a new frame, lol.

How did you replace the bolt on the inside? More importantly how did you line it up with the frame mount? About to attempt this on my 2013 right rear tub body mount. Couldn’t find any replacements so I bought a welder and have been practicing for this.
