New to the forum and new to the Wrangler. Had a cherokee(Xj) years ago. Just picked up a 2018 Wrangler sport in rhino. Named her Jolene, so far pretty happy with her. Have wanted a Wrangler for a long time. Will be a slow build, but first plans would be to build a bumper for it, trailer hitch and then go from there. Looking forward to exploring with my wife and dogs in the Jeep.

Great looking JKU, and should make for a great start for a project. The question is, are you going to go mild or wild? ;)

Update to “project apocalypse “
Got the wheels painted, removed the rear bumper with plans to build one. Got a free OEM front bumper and decided I’d make do with fabricating some additions to the OEM stock steel for the time being. Ordered rough country seat covers, as well as a sunshade top.

I have had my OEM AL 17 rims in my basement for the last 7yrs. I want to paint them black and outfit them with a good ALL Weather Tire for next winter. Did you paint your rims yourself and with what? There have been posts about this, but I can not find them (lazy). Currently I have steel wheels with Wrangler Territories that I clean up every year and Tremclad them with flat black. Cosmetics is not my forte. LOL

I did paint them myself. I used hi temp engine paint actually just because it’s a bit tougher then regular paint. I thoroughly cleaned them with brake clean prior to painting.

I have this high temp flat black paint for my wood stove ( yes it is -16C,2F outside). And I have a lot of brakes part cleaner. But the Law came down hard on me today. No F-ing way you are doing the rims in the basement she said, wait till the spring and haul them outside. Sucks.
