2008 JKU, I just upgraded from 3.5" Rock Krawler springs and 35's to 4.5" RK springs and 40's. Now the rear of the jeep seems to squat unlike before with the 3.5's. There is only about 15 pounds difference between the 35's and the 40's I'm running now. Is this common with the 4.5" RK springs?

I don't see any squat. But the Jeep isn't framed squarely, which could make it more difficult to judge.
Planning an axle swap?

It has a Dana Ultimate 44 in the front and a built 44 in the rear currently but I am in the process of building a set of tons. Have a 2006 F350 front that I'm working on and a 14 bolt GM on the way for the rear. Just takes time and money.

I hear you. I built a YJ with a D44 front/12-bolt rear on 40's, with Detroits in both and a 450HP 383 Chevy. They both held up, but I had hub fuses in the D44 to protect it. I'm pretty sure that is what kept me from breaking expensive stuff.

This one doesn't see any major trails. Most of what it sees is pretty minor. Little bit of mud and some rocks but nothing like Moab or anything of that nature. In all honesty it's turned into more of a hobby for me and my son to wrench on. Running a truetrac in the rear with chromoly shafts and ARB in the front. I have a truss for the rear axle but haven't gotten around to putting it on yet. For a little insurance I am running 1310 driveshafts so if it is put in enough of a bind to break something hopefully it will be a $15 U joint. Just starting on the tons. Hopefully have them both finished by next summer and will upgrade the driveshafts when they are ready.
