Long story here goes: recently replaced the oil pressure sensor due to codes on scanner tool. Codes gone, then a leak began, called a shop, they said they replace 7 oil cooler housings a week because they become brittle over time. so i ordered an aluminum housing which also came with new sensors , gaskets and two filters. the shop was correct i had cracked the OEM plactic housing when i replaced the original sensor. I installed the new housing no issues then after about 250 miles of driving i have check engine light code P06DD. So i thought i would change the filter then i noticed the new housing requires the filter with a nipple on it. See attached comparison photo. Okay to run this setup on a 2013? Could this be causing the code?

An aluminum housing is aftermarket, to my knowledge. Go by their recommendation. The one with the nipple on it is the updated (2014+) filter. I installed a Dorman aluminum housing in my daughter's '12 and wrote the correct Mopar # in paint pen on the cap in case she takes it somewhere. I do believe the wrong filter can cause low oil pressure, but that is only what I've heard.

Since there are so many Dorman knock-offs of the original design, I wouldn't trust just going with the new version. Again, check what yours recommends.

Edit: Re-read. Yes, go with the new design.
