Hi all, have a 2017 JKU Sahara. Last week had a pretty persistent check engine light, code read P0128
Literally on the way to the parts store to pick up a thermostat I had ordered, check engine light went off and has not come back on over the last two days. I have noticed that riding around town by engine coolant stays anywhere from 185 to 205°, mostly in upper 180s. I did turn it on this morning and felt the rear coolant hose get warm before the upper radiator hose did, so I’m assuming that the thermostat is staying closed when it should and not stuck open, at least now?
Should I go ahead and replace the thermostat? One piece of information is that it has been a little bit warmer here over the last week than when it was cold and the check engine light was coming on

Change it! I had the same problem with my 2015. Mine was stuck open. Light went off for a few but eventually came back on.
