I don't have a lot of experience with the different apps, but I have looked at a couple. The guys I watch on YouTube all seem to run Gaia or OnX. I think they are probably the most popular in the offroad community. I also have Avenza Maps. I think Avenza is the official map of the US Forest Service. I find a lot of hiking, biking and other trails as well as OHV trails inside of state and federal lands often have an Avenza map available. Jeep has a 'Badge of Honor' app that looks kind of cool to help you find trails. I also found one called 'Trails Offroad' that looks good. When I was in CO I used COTrex. But that is Colorado only. Finally one of the guys I watch online 'Venture 4wd" has been talking about Thatch. But I've not looked into it yet. So the list I currently have on my phone, but may or may not have used are: All Trails - Used a fair amount for finding hiking trails. COTrex - Used in Colorado Badge of Honor - Have not used but looks good Trails offroad - Have not used but looks good Avenza - I've used on Forest Service lands. Its OK but not great. But that might just be me. OnX - Have not used but looks good. Highly regarded by others. Honorable mention Gaia - Heard about it but never installed it. Highly regarded by others. Thatch - Heard about it but never installed it
