Hey y’all! New owner here of this wonderful 2013 Wrangler Sport! Other than that solid introduction I have a few questions just to make sure I get the most out of it.
1) 120,000 miles young, what maintenance should I be doing to it to give her the longest life possible?
2) I’ve noticed a whistle in the softop above the window. I come from a long line of cars so not sure if this is just common with the soft tops or if it’s an issue I should try and fix?

Welcome aboard the ‘spending train’ & Jeep life.

In terms of maintenance, if you’re not sure whether the PO kept up with oil changes, I’d start with that. I personally would change the transfer case, and diff fluids and visually inspect everything else.

To be precise, here’s a schedule I’ve located online:

As for your soft top, I don’t know the definitive answer. You state there’s a whistle, but do you feel any air coming through? All tops age differently, depending on the environment they’re kept in and how they’re maintained. I always lubricate my header seal and zippers with Fluid Film twice a year. Start by checking the condition of your header seal.

Congrats and best of enjoyment with the ‘new’ JKU.

Preciate it!! I’ll definitely everything looked into and make sure all maintenance is on schedule!

As for the soft top whistle, it's really hard to say. One thing I will tell you is that soft tops are definitely not nice and quiet like hard tops, especially at higher speeds. The whistle could be somewhat normal at 80 MPH, but if it's at lower speeds, I would suspect you have a seal (i.e. the header seal) that isn't seating properly.

Hey there! Thanks for the reply! I meant to update but I’ve noticed it’s mainly at highway speeds and on windy days that I hear it, so probably not a big deal.

Yep, mine does this too but it's only at high speeds and windy days like you mentioned. It seems to just be the nature of poor aerodynamics and the soft top.
