Hey guys,
After doing a bit of research, I'm starting to believe I might have a pretty unique situation regarding my steering system. I've got some really loose steering after upgrading my ball joints and steering linkage. I've ended chasing my tail around the steering linkage and replacing anything and everything that can cause loose steering. so far i have replaced ball joints, tie rod, drag link, track bar, sway bar bushings, steering gear, tried adjusting the steering gear and flushed the system. After all that, it's still hard to control. I have not replaced the steering pump, the steering shaft/column, or the stabilizer. Any recommendations regarding where to go from here would be much appreciated.

is the steering setup stock or aftermarket? Is there a dropped pitman arm or dropped track bar bracket?

Currently I'm running the Currie Correctlync Tie rod and drag link set up. With Synergy HD ball joints Along with a Skyjacker adjustable track bar. Those four items were the only true upgrades to the steering system. The pit man arm is stock and the new steering gear is a stock re-manufactured one. The bushings were also stock replacements

If this information helps, with the jeep stationary and running, I can turn the steering wheel 20-30 degrees in either direction before the front wheels begin to turn. I can confirm that the steering shaft/column is secured between the steering gear and steering wheel. But the input of the steering gear doesn't seem to match the output, as if there is something mechanically loose in the steering gear box. But I've adjusted both the old and the new steering gear and nothing has changed. I have also check all nuts and bolts in the steering system and items that support the steering system to ensure they are installed properly and torqued to spec. Nothing seems to be loose when a second person turns the wheel while I watch the linkage .
