It’s great to be a part of this forum. I’m not a gearhead, so bare with me with the questions but I’m the son of a gear head and I’ve had my 2016 Sahara for 3 years now. It has just over 76k miles on it and is used primarily as a DD. I’ve gone back and forth on whether I should upgrade my 16 Sahara or just wait a year or two and by a new JL? At this point I think it would be less costly to put my efforts into upgrading my current ride.

What I would like to do is add 33 inch tires and Fuel Blitz wheels. My Jeep has the P255 70 R18 tires on it currently, which I believe are 32 inch tires. I also have on the original aluminum 18 wheels. With the upgrade to 33 inch tires and the blitz wheels how much would I have to lift my Jeep and what brand of tires do you think would fit those wheels best without breaking the bank? Keep in mind I’m going more for an aesthetic look than using it to go off roading. Although, where I live winters are harsh and I do need something that’s good in snowy conditions when the season comes.

I would like to lift it 1.5 to 2 inches but I know the more I lift, the more modifications would be required to keep it running right. What are some other modifications I would have to purchase to make this work for my JK and would I get this done at a dealership or try to do this myself ?
Also, do you guys think this would be possible to do on a budget of 5k or under? I really appreciate the help JK family.

Going with a tire that's only a inch taller you wouldn't need a lift, the modification can be done yourself. The Dealer will charge probably double over what a 4x4 shop would charge. 1.5 to 2" lift you shouldn't need adjustable control arms but will need adjustable track bars front and rear.

You can put flat top fenders on and not have to lift because they will give a few more inches of clearance over the stock fenders.

You may encounter a bit of rubbing, mostly on the air dam (that plastic thing below and behind the front bumper) when you put larger wider tires on the Jeep. Air dam can be removed or trimmed away.

You are not going to need adjustable anything unless you get a lift greater than 2.5 inches. Which is what I have and the rear trackbar just has a relocation bracket. I'm running 33" tire and I ran the same tires with just a leveling kit for a year.

Your jeep, but I will suggest not staying with 18" wheels and move to the more jeep size of 17". There is a better selection of tires and there are other reasons that the top end Rubicon variant has 17" (they are better for off-roading.)

Never have a lift done at a dealer, unless A) you just bought it there and it is part of the sale and b) it is to maintain the factory warranty.
