Got an almost brand new setup of Rubicon wheels/tires (32.7") for free from a buddies new Gladiator purchase going on a 2011 JKU (Sahara). I'm also considering a 1.5" leveling kit and the shocks are probably due from their age as well as the leveling kit. On occasion I'll be pulling a jet ski and there might be a double trailer in my future when we are at the lake.

What recommendations and information would anyone suggest for the additional 1+" of travel.

What style of level? Blocks or springs?

You won't have any extra travel with blocks, and could employ a shock relocation bracket with a OEM replacement shock like a Bilstein 4600.

If springs, the Bilstein 5100 is designed for 1-2" of increased travel iirc.

I'm looking into the same thing right now for mine and debating between doing one of the leveling kits or just pulling the trigger on the AEV 2.5" which includes appropriate Bilstein shocks in the kit.
