Hi, new on here…wave, wave!
Okay, suddenly a week ago the alarm went off for no reason (theres obv one but shouldn’t be!) with the car being parked n locked for a few hours.
Unlocked, locked and off it went again around 5 secs after locking with the key fob.
Just isolated the interior motion sensor and off it went again.
Where are the sensors that trigger the alarm? Are they the traditional door light switches? Where are the tailgate/rear glass door switches?
Any clues on where to start?
The interior lights all dim when the doors are closed so presumably it isn’t the door switches or a trigger from these.
Any help pleeeaaase!

Do you have an aftermarket alarm? I don't know that the factory has a motion sensor. But I could be wrong.

I would expect that the alarm is tied into the normal light switches, but if its factory it could all me connected to the computer. Sorry, I'm not much help.

Factory alarm system is pretty basic. The only time I set mine off is in the summer I reach in and try to open the doors from the inside when the jeep is locked. There is no motion aspect to it that I'm aware of.

I would have your battery tested to see is it is failing. The dimming of the lights isn't right, and a low battery could be setting off the alarm for reasons.

thanks, apparently the alarm is fitted by Jeep when imported to the uk, so is that factory fitted or aftermarket?
I believe that I it has the motion sensor; I turned it off and the alarm still went off after around 15secs.
probably connected to the computer…

Thanks, I’ll check the battery out, but it was changed by the previous owner before we bought it, that doesn’t mean it’s any good though!
i thought the lights were meant to dim when the doors were closed and locked?

I don't think mine does that, but there are differences across years, and especially across the pond. I initially misunderstood what you were saying with that point, so don't worry about it too much.

Hopefully if it a new battery it's good, but they can fail prematurely for all kinds of reasons.

Have you changed the FOB battery? Perhaps this could be an issue...

I'm pretty sure the sensor for this kinda alarm would be a singular one that would be similar to the gyroscope in your phone. There are old mechanical ones and new electronic ones. I would start by looking under the dash I suppose. I have no idea what it would look like.
