I was reading a discussion on the Jeep TJ forum regarding long arm vs short arm lifts. I have a 07 Wrangler Unlimited that I want to put a 4" lift on. There was a lot of good information, but I won't be doing any major off road driving. My Jeep currently has 2.5" lift, I run 35x20x12.5 tires, recently upgraded the drag link, track bar and tie rod, because of death wobble, to the Rubicon Express Heavy Duty. Major difference in the ride just from doing that. The tie rod required wheel spacers because it is longer than the stock tie rod. Since the upgrade there has been no rubbing on the flares. I installed the stubby bumper end caps over a year ago. Since I upgraded just those 3, I have noticed a HUGE difference in the ride. I no longer cringe over the site of rail road tracks or just crappy roads in general. I am getting ready to replace my rear track bar also with the Rubicon Express track bar, my rear end feels like it is drifting the side when going around a corner on an uneven road. I am also looking into replacing my front and rear sway bars. So to get to my question, is it worth spending the money on a long arm lift or go with a short arm lift? Jeeps ride like no other car or suv, that is just the reality of owning a Jeep!
