Jerry can leak

Hi All.

Anyone ever seen this before? Wet with gas on its side running down to carrier. Can smell the gas when you walk past. I carry this on my swinging spare carrier… maybe a rock hit it?

Any way to repair? Or do I just need to get a new one?

German cans are cool looking. They are very $$ here to get the original DND Canada ones imported from NATO. I think they were original designed for H2O and diesel in the North African campaign. Alcohol in the gasoline can corrode them. Or maybe, if you are here it was a stay 22LR.

Permatex makes a fuel tank stick putty. I've used it before and it worked great! Empty your can, carb clean the gas off, use some 80 grit sandpaper around the hole, wipe it down and apply the putty. 20 mins later, it's hard as steel.
