Is there a difference in the side bows from early to mid JKs?

Hey guys! So ive got a 2013 2 door and have had all kinds of problems with the top on it. I could get into the whole thing but long story short, I've got a new rugged ridge top on it and a new best top header. The dealer I got it from screwed the pooch on it and ended up having me pull the top off a 2015 wrangler they just took in to throw on it, bows and all. Little did I know, that top had 2 holes in it. Put a new top on it and the header started bending a week or so later. Got this new header on it but the latches close SUPER tight and it's really tough to get the latches to release. I noticed some differences in the header and other things on the top that lead me to believe the bows are from an 07 - 10 or whenever. When I clamp down on the windshield, I notice the header bends down away from the top a bit. Is there a difference in length in the side bows from the first and second halves of the Jk? It seems like they put an early jk top and bows on a 2015 wrangler and then I took the top thinking it was a 2015.

The header on a 2007 is plastic junk. It bows and has tons of wind noise. They were upgraded to metal maybe 09 not positive. I replaced my header to metal and have a standard

Sorry. A standard 300 dollar soft top made for my model which is a 2007. If you mix match headers and tops chances are you are gonna have issues

Gotcha. Yeah this new header is from Bestop so the upper header (the thin part) is metal and the lower is plastic although it still feels better than what I pulled off it. I just took the jeep to and from work and it seems like when I'm doing low speeds, the header holds up fine, but as I speed up and get on the freeway, the gap comes back. But it went right back to matching up perfectly when we got back into town. Is this a Jk thing? I went ahead and ordered a new bow for above the front seats that's the correct style so hopefully that helps.

10-4 just the thin part will be metal. Shouldn’t move around on ya. I used to have to pop my latches and pull it a little to seat it properly at the header. Love my Jeep but sure can be a pain in the ass sometimes. 🍺
