Skipping over several older installations and moving on to the most current install, We've purchase the Rampage Trailview half top for our 2017 jeep wrangler unlimited sport from rockauto.com
The package arrived last week in a box about the size of a small but tall refrigerator. Yes it was heavy too. I maneuvered the box down the step to the basement where I started systematically removing 3 full sized boxes inside the main box. The first box contained the new surround hardware while the other two boxes contacted the sunrider option and the fabric top itself.
Taking several hours to complete, I worked on the new door surrounds., Though I ran into a couple of issues, the hardware was missing a couple of screws but this wasn't a big deal as I had a few others from previous builds.
The other issue I ran into was that part of the surround did not have any mounting hold in a location where there should have been. So I drilled this location out and installed screws.
This is as far as I've gotten because we await better weather to complete the installation. if you're new to these types of framed tops, one may have some difficulty reading the directions. Simply because the direction show you how to build only one side of the surround and not the other. Knowing this, I watched this video because the forward section was nearly identical to what I was building:
Test fitted the sunrider option in the forward fabric top section this morning. Tight fit and some of the button snaps didn't like up very well. But was able to get everything connected. Just another element I can do before the throw everything in the jeep and head to a friends house on the Eastern shore of Maryland.
Once we get a warm day, which could happen as soon as this weekend, I'll continue where I left off.
