Hydraulic assist cylinder hose issue

Hi fellow Jeepers,

While I was wheeling in the woods, a downed tree branch loosened one of the hydro assist hoses on my Wrangler. I have the hoses wrapped and protected well against abrasion, but the branch made its way on top of the drag link and pushed the 90° hydraulic fitting backwards, creating a leak that effectively drained the steering system in short order.
If I change to a straight fittings, branches will snap the fittings off - not a great upgrade. Does anyone know of a shielding solution for the drag link area? There isn't a whole lot of room down there to build a shield without it interfering with all of the moving parts.

I don't have a great pic showing the cylinder at this time but it's the red and silver bit that can be seen below.

Thank you, I appreciate your reply. The Ironman offering looks like it would protect the underside of the cylinder itself fairly well but due to the proximity of the various moving parts, wouldn't do too much to protect the top fittings. It does give me an idea for something I may be able to fabricate though, so I do appreciate it!
Now to get this work week over so I can take a look (12 hour shifts, it's dark when I leave and when I get home).
