Hi fellow Jeepers,
While I was wheeling in the woods, a downed tree branch loosened one of the hydro assist hoses on my Wrangler. I have the hoses wrapped and protected well against abrasion, but the branch made its way on top of the drag link and pushed the 90° hydraulic fitting backwards, creating a leak that effectively drained the steering system in short order.
If I change to a straight fittings, branches will snap the fittings off - not a great upgrade. Does anyone know of a shielding solution for the drag link area? There isn't a whole lot of room down there to build a shield without it interfering with all of the moving parts.
I don't have a great pic showing the cylinder at this time but it's the red and silver bit that can be seen below.
