Nah! I’m not getting rid of my Jeep, just having to send it in for a leaky axle seal.
You better believe that after my warranty is up I’ll be putting in axle seals myself! 800 dollars is the quote.

I’m also getting a lifter tick diagnostics, hopefully they will fix that as well. Should be covered under warranty (in my mind at least).

The dealership here will still give you a "quote" before they do the actual work. They charge right at 800 for parts and labor. Ridiculous in my opinion.

I've never bought anything new so i've never had to deal with Dealers and Warranty. I don't even like to buy a used vehicle from a Dealer but that's where I found mine. Like you said way to much money for a $25 seal.

Got word back from the dealer, they are almost done fixing my lifter issue, but unfortunately are apparently having a hard time finding the appropriate spline lug nut tool (PO put 10 spline lugs on and didn't include the tool).
Hopefully, they find one soon, I miss my jeep. lol.

I honestly thought that the lifter repair would put my jeep down a few days (knowing dealer service centers).

I will be interested to see how much this all would have run me if it was out of warranty.

Probably won't be cheap, that's for sure!

Hopefully the fix it soon!
Well, that dealer screwed it up.

For the lifter issue, they did the wrong side of the engine. They did the left (drivers side) when the passenger side was the issue, I don't think the tech even listened to the engine before "fixing" it.

The main issue I went in for (axle seal) was also not fixed. The PO put 10 spline lugs on my Jeep but did not include the 10 spline tool. I would assume (everyone knows the saying about assuming) that the dealership, being a full shop, would have the tool. They did not. I asked them to just break the 10 spline lugs off and I would bring them regular lugs. They were going to charge me over 100 bucks just to take the old lugs off (called a local tire shop and they would do it for free). I decided I would pick up my jeep and bring it back. That's when I found out that not only did they work on the wrong side of the engine, but the tech also stripped 3 of the lugs on my front passenger wheel. I don't know why he didn't stop after he started to strip the first. I eventually got the old lugs off and put regular on. Super annoying.

Anyway, I took it to a different dealer this morning and they should have it all fixed up today.

Damn, that's terrible. Time to leave them a bad review!

This is also why I avoid dealers at all costs. I always try and find a capable third party shop that knows Jeeps and off-road vehicles really well. I'm fortunate that we have one of those right by us.
