I have a 2012 JK that is making a loud grinding noise when in a sharp turn and in 4 wheel drive. It does not make any noise if not in a fairly tight turn and it doesn’t make any noise in 2 wheel drive regardless of turning. Any advice is greatly appreciated

Are you lifted any? If so could be the joint on your front driveshaft. Mine did the same thing and than I replaced the driveshaft with a Adams off road one with a double cardon joint. The factory joint can't take the severe angle

Did it recently start doing this after you modified it or did something to the Jeep, or did it just start doing this out of nowhere?

It is lifted, but has been for years. This grinding just started lately.

Mine was lifted when I got it. Had 104k miles and now has 111k. Didn't make any noise when I got it and have had it about 8 months now. Just a couple months ago it started. I'd crawl under it and see if there is any play in your front driveshaft

Just started lately, it’s lifted and has aftermarket 4x4 gear, but no changes have been made to the Jeep for years
