hello, I'm new to the forum. my son's 2010 with manual transmission has a stumble at the beginning of a shift . it's worse at lower speeds. power feels good at high end of rpm. 80,000 miles with brand new spark plugs ( thought that might be the problem ) and a new egr valve which was throwing a code and was replace a month before this problem started. i would appreciate any help

Have you checked for a code since they were erased from changing the EGR? Is the stumble at 1st or all the gears?

there are no codes active. the stumble is at the very beginning of pedal travel. im sure it does it at other gears but once you build speed it's less noticeable

Hmmm, tough to diagnose without a code.

Keep driving it, if it is a genuine problem, a code will popup, I guarantee it. That's going to be much better than taking shots in the dark and guessing, especially since these things are so computer controlled.

i thought the pedal but it works fine when not moving. i was hoping for a code but it's been 2 months and no change.

Just to show how bad they really did on these Computer controlled JK's the factory radio's even throw a code when there is a problem with them. Now I think that's going to far.

I agree totally. I'm a Caterpillar technician and I've run across incorrect inputs are acted upon my a ECM and no codes become active since the system is doing what it thinks is correct. I have a cheap scan tool and from what it shows both bank 1 and bank 2 O2 sensors ( before cat) show rich for a split second. I've seen a calibration for the throttle body, but im not sure about it

The TB will give the lightning bolt code when there is a problem with it, when I put my Viper TB on I got the lightning bolt a couple times. I did some searching and found a relearn procedure for the TB and when I did it I no longer got the code.

Like Chris said there should be a code in the ECM if there is a problem, could be such a thing as it hasn't set off the CEL light yet.

No shit? I didn't know that. Wow! These things can be a real PITA to diagnose I tell you, much more difficult than my TJ!
