I really hate having to make this post but I feel like it is my duty after ordering from 4wd.com. I dropped $1500 on a lift on this site on 5/15/20. They claim to still be fully functional during the pandemic. It is now the 26th and my order is still pending. The money left my bank account the day after I placed my order and there is no option to cancel my order. After emailing and calling customer service and being left on hold for over an hour at a time I have not been able to reach anyone. After looking on Yelp it seems lot of people have had this same issue even prior to the pandemic. I filed a fraud claim with Paypal against this seller. Moral of the story: if you think you've done enough research on a seller you’re buying from. Do more lol.

It's a shame businesses are like that, i'm having a similar issue with a place I ordered from on Amazon. They were showing they had the quantity that I needed and I found out later the place is just 2 hours from me. I ordered on 5-16 they show shipment pending 5-19, contacted them today and they said they just received my parts in yesterday and were being sent out today. So were they lying about having some in stock when I ordered?

Yep, I could have told you this.

I've had bad experiences with 4WD.com, Morris4x4, Quadratec, and Extreme Terrain. Only places I order from are Amazon and Northridge 4x4 anymore.

I try to buy from Amazon as much as possible, I have ordered 2 times from Extreme Terrain and never had any issues except for slow shipping.

It's a real shame because I could have bought this lift on Amazon or quadratec but I opted to support a smaller business. It sucks in your case that they lied about having something just to secure your money with them.

This is why I am not blinded into Made in America hype and hysteria because it does not always meant integrity and with the price you have to pay adds insult to the injury.

They are much larger than Quadratec, only Amazon is bigger FWIW.

Is this lift you purchased for around $1500 a house brand of TAP by chance?

Is it a ProComp, Rubicon Express or something made by SmittyBuilt?

These above are all in-house brands of the parent company TAP. Some stuff is made here while a majority of the armor and Smitty brand are all off-shore manufactured after the R & D process is completed here stateside.

Assuming that TAP parent company is still the owner of 4wd.com/4wd hardware:

From Linkedin website about TAP:
TAP conducts business through a three-pronged sales, service, and manufacturing paradigm. The company supplements a robust mail-order system with 80 plus brick-and-mortar retail centers, staffed with experienced product and installation specialists. In addition to the retail initiative, TAP has accelerated its business with the e-commerce marketplace. Led by its flagship Websites 4WheelParts.com and 4WD.com, TAP’s 22 consumer-oriented sites have collectively grown beyond 2.6 million visitors each month. The TAP e-commerce network facilitates consumer sales, service, and support. TAP’s manufacturing system features a 100,000 square foot research and production facility that incorporates an in-house conceptualization, design, and implementation process. From the beginning, TAP has dedicated its resources to serving its customers, and to establishing itself as the premier supplier and distributor of high quality automotive parts.

I drive by their main warehouse off the 91 fwy every day to work and back. There are vehicles in the parking lot so some are going to work right now with the lockdown that has been taking place for the Wuhon C19 virus pandemic. Usually their parking lot is packed to capacity with employee cars and lots of trucks at the loading docks. They do have a few other regional warehouses for distribution but this is their main one and was their headquarters for a long time.

I would suggest calling over to parent company Transamerica Autoparts headquarters in Compton, CA about making this right. Address is:

400 W Artesia Blvd
Compton, California 90220, USA

Making you whole is what should happen by supplying what was ordered or refunding your money. Be polite and friendly, you'll get more possible help with honey than vinegar and asking for a decision maker in SENIOR management, if that doesn't work, try calling TAP and leaving a voicemail with Greg the CEO directly and ask them point blank about what's going on over at 4wd.com and what can be done about their supply "issue" you're having.

Alot of the issues now days is just plain old customer service. You'd think that if a order was placed and not going to be sent out in a timely manner then they should notify you and ask if you want to wait or your money refunded or if you'll wait. I don't think I would have had my order just being sent out if it hadn't been I contacted them through Amazon.

Fortunately, this lift I ordered was ARB, so not a house brand but something crazy happened. I GOT IT TODAY!!! Absolutely no communication from 4wd and according to their website the lift still hasn't even left their facility. Yet it arrived today on a dolly from UPS. I still cannot recommend a corporation that does not provide any tracking or customer service whatsoever. I mean what if something happened to it during shipping or if the item just straight up got lost? I would be screwed out of my money without a lick of communication.

I had a similar experience with a purchase from 4WP. Placed an order, money withdrawn from my account, order showing pending, and after trying unsuccessfully to reach them, a big box showed up on my front porch. 🤷‍♂️

Literally identical to what happened to me. What a joke😂😂

i really try to do business with 4WP since they have a store very close to my office and it’s just so convenient. its too bad that to date i have tried to buy from them on 3 occasions. Twice their price was 60% higher than others and on my Sunrider they didn’t have it and said they would check and call me right back since the rebate ended the next day, and i wanted to get the order placed. I waited till after they closed, hoping to hear from them. No dice, ordered in on line and had it within 3 days. Never did hear from them. It‘s a shame since they seem to have a nice facility and nice people
