So my cv joint finally gave up. I replaced it, but while I was removing the old one and got the new one in, I noticed the splines on the shaft were short as well couldn’t put the snap ring in. There’s no notch on the splines for where the snap ring should go. Has anyone experienced this? Is it ok to have it without the snap ring?
