And if so, what engines can I use out of vans or chargers, challengers, or 1500s. if you were in my position, would you try replacing the head or just replace the whole engine with a auction engine or how would you go about it?
Hello All, This is my first post to the forum and looking to get help with a problem I’m trying to overcome. My jeep has a massive misfire and I already changed the spark plugs and swapped the coil pack of the misfire to a different one trying to see if the coil pack was the problem. Well, after all of that, it still has a horrible misfire and I believe it could be a head problem but the weird thing is whenever I pull the dipstick while changing the spark plugs just start to randomly check there was no fluid on the dipstick. So maybe it burned oil or I have a leaky oil filter housing I’m not sure but I just change the oil and barely crossed 2000 mile mark. So I think maybe it’s a head problem with the crazy misfire cause it is the 2012 3.6 Penta star and they are known to have a head problem. I guess I’m not really too educated on that but even if I change the head I feel like I probably damaged the block running it out of oil I’m not even sure how long it was out of oil I could’ve stopped right away or Jupiter miles without it I’m not sure. Maybe my piston rings are no good either and that’s causing a misfire. I have taken the spark plugs out and stuck a camera in there and didn’t see much. I haven’t done a compression test yet, but if or when when I do, and I figure that the engine or head is no good. so my main problem that I’m asking for help with is to engine swap it what engines are compatible with a 2012 I’ve seen on forums on this website that they are compatible with like 2012 to 2014 possibly, but I’m not sure. And if so, what engines can I use out of vans or chargers, challengers, or 1500s. if you were in my position, would you try replacing the head or just replace the whole engine with a auction engine or how would you go about it? What’s the smartest route to get my wrangler back on the road Thank you all and hopefully I am able to get the answers. I need much appreciate it.
