Hey guys!.. need help.... sorry for the long post. TLDR at the bottom... I've read on some of this forum even found a couple similar with no solution... So, starting about 3 days ago I have a very loud clicking noise coming from my transfer case? I think?... sounded similar to the noise I fixed by upgrading to the teraflex front high angle pinion... but this is the peculiar part... It only happens in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear. Only on load. If i push in the clutch or rev while idle, no noise. I first thought it was trying to engage 4hi while moving (I noticed the plastic cap on my drive selector was off)... but i have since locked it in 2hi with the help of some handy dandy zip ties. Then I thought it was the front driveshaft again, checked everything on the new driveshaft. Fine... so today I pulled the front driveshaft completely and test drove it. Clicking is still there... Also thought it could be the throwout bearing. But this clicking seems to be tire rotation based not driveshaft based... Im knowledgeable in mechanics but this has me stumped. TL:DR : clicking noise in 1st thru 3rd, While on throttle, front driveshaft is completely off. Thanks guys!
