Camping mods, what are yours?

These are my 2 favorite camping mods... first one is a homemade tailgate table... the gas strut keeps it in place, as it pushed towards the tailgate.... since the picture i have added another strut on the other side....

And when it is deployed, the strut keeps the table in place...

Now, we camp a lot... so, the next logical thing to add was led lights inside the rear window... i bought a long LED strip and soldered the corners, so i have led lights in the entire perimeter of the window... this pic is with the lights OFF....

Now, with them ON...

Love the LED lighting, the tailgate table is a great mod for camping, I’ve made a few for TJ’s.

I want to do some light upgrades to my back glass soon. I like the way you ran yours. A tailgate table is on the list, too. First I have to upgrade my hinges and tire carrier though.

It was sourced from work, it’s soffit panels from a building we did in San Francisco. We did a couple of jobs there in Naperville some time ago.

What are your favorite camping mods??

How did you power the led lights and where they rope lights or led long bulb lights? Like the kind you’d put under a kitchen cabinet above a counter almost? I’m looking to do this ASAP. Also any pointers or links to help me build my own tailgate table that’d be awesome!
