I’m looking to get a hitch so I can use a bike rack and other such recreational accessories (not planning on towing anything). I’m trying to carry 4 bikes so a hitch plus bike holder seems a better option that something that straps on the rear tire or such.

I’d appreciate advice on where I can get this done or if it’s an easy DIY (I’m not all that skilled). And also if you know how much it might cost. Locally I have dealerships, Uhaul, even a specialty Jeep places - but figured I’d ask before exploring options.

Admittedly I’m unfamiliar with doing things to my Jeep beyond basic cosmetic improvements so thanks for your patience and help!

Here is the type of hitch you'll need and a video that shows how to install it. After watching the video you can decide if it's something you can do yourself.

On a scale from 1 to 10 this is a 1.
I bought the cheapest one on amazon that came with wiring for trailer lights. Excellent fit and welds
I did have to wedge the muffler from the back frame a little to slide the bolts in. Thinking about how I wanted to move the muffler a half inch took more time and effort than the install.

Very helpful video, thanks! I hadn't realized it would be that easy and the frame so equipped to handle it. Wish it was that easy to put one on my Volvo too (maybe it is).

I read somewhere that you didn't need to remove the bumper cover just pull it out in the center and push the bolts through from the inside and put the nuts on the back side.

this hitch is more stable for carrying things such as cargo racks. but if you are just planing on a bike rack, i think any standard class II hitch will do fine.
