Hi all, new to the group but not new to Jeeps. Over the years I have had a 62 CJ5, 88 YJ, 97 TJ, and 17 JKU Willys before owning my current 09 JKUR. I pickup up my Jeep a few months back and am getting it ready for our first wheeling trip up through some decent rocks in the central Sierras. I have cheapy chinese low hanging metal side steps.

I am thinking of putting actual frame mounted rock sliders on. I am between EVO, Motobilt, White knuckle and LOD. I am leaning towards weld on. It seems 95% of these sliders are mounted to the body mounts and pinch seam. I am not confident that these would hold up.

Please let me know what your thoughts are.

Thank you all!

The set on my JKUR are body mount tied, not sure if that is considered frame tied, they are dimple died on the bottom and have taken some hard hits. The logo is a biohazard symbol. I cannot find who made them. They may be a custom job. I like them a bunch.

I use outta hand fab for, well most everything. They make a great product and have top notch customer service.

Here are their sliders on my 2 door, they are weld on and solidly built.

Thanks WSS. I will look into those. Most seem to be tub mounted and some are mounted to the pinch seam as well. I have a trip coming up in about 60 days and if nothing else I will run the factory rubi rails to get me by. The low metal side steps on mine currently will get hung up on everything.
