So ,on the way to drop off my 2012 jk this morning, to get some things checked out, the battery light comes on. Is this most definitely the alternator or have u guys had similar experience and it could be something smaller?????

Could be battery, alternator, or loose dirty connections at the battery. Best to have the battery tested and while it's out clean the battery clamps.
Battery is relatively new and I replaced the connectors awhile back with marine connectors so they were solid.....unless the crappy mechanic who worked on it last week, unhooked it.and didn't hook back up well.....fingers crossed
