Backup camera activation

I’m installing a back camera on a 2012 Sahara JKU. I know about the dealer option ($135.00) And the OBD Flash PAC option ($136.00) to activate the the rear cam function in the computer. My question is about any other option to get the camera function activated. Thanks

My camera is wired into the reverse light wires at the back of the Jeep, then when it's put in reverse the camera comes on.

Thanks for your response.Yes I plan to power the rear camera that way also. What I’m looking for is a cheaper option to get the stock radio/navigation screen to display the camera feed when you shift to reverse.

I know when I shift into reverse my camera automatically comes on, the wires that are connected to the reverse wires trip the backup screen to come on. But I don't have a factory radio either it's a Clarion.

Thanks guys,I’m actively searching for a Bluetooth OBD device on amazon now. Trying to find one under $30.00 and will be delivered before the weekend.

I use the ICAR PRO BLUETOOTH LE and can testify to the functionality of that with the JScan. It is small enough to keep in the Glove Box so if you have a concern you can do a diagnostic in a parking lot if needed.

It is available off of Amazon.Com, but with the Coronavirus issues going on at the moment there might be a delay in the shipping.

I ordered the same one a few days ago and it’s supposed to be here Sunday afternoon. But like you said it might be delayed

Thanks

When making adjustments we all have to remember to write down the current settings. Nothing worse than breaking the computer and ending up with a 4,500 paperweight Jeep.
