Back seat removal issue

Hi everybody! I recently purchased my 2010 2 door JK. While trying to remove the rear seat I found that the cable on the driver side is broken. I can drop the back of the seat down but I'm unable to lift the seat up for removal. I've pulled on the cable with pliers and nothing budges. Any idea on what I can do to get this seat out? I feel like there's got to be a trick that YouTube isnt showing me.

Reach in under the top part of the seat, where the cable goes to the bottom of the seat and pull that, it worked in mine.
