I posted a similar thread a while back and wasn't as specific in it but here we go:

I have a (used) 2017 Wrangler Sport (Auto) that has been having acceleration issues ever since I got it a few years back. I'm not driving it hard but I'm noticing a hesitation in throttle response, the RPMS barely climb (can't pass 2k most of the times) unless I floor and even when I do it barely gets past 4k and a burning stench (like rubber but there's no hood insulation) is emitted from the hood (drivers side). I replaced the throttle body and the issue is still persistent. No engine light, no codes. Told numerous times that it's normal for a Jeep but I disagree. I'm looking for advice on how to figure out the issue (if there is one) without wasting my money and the mechanics time.

Thanks in advance.

Forgot to mention everything is stock minus the axle-back which is a Flowmaster Outlaw and was told a retune for the airflow wasn't needed.

I would also remove the belt and check all the accessories for noticeably high friction/resistance. My guess would be either the alternator or A/C. Alternators can really start to smell like they're burning when they're going bad. This coupled with the belt rubber getting toasted could be what you are experiencing.

The root cause of the acceleration issue sounds almost like you are in a reduced power mode and the ECM reset is a good place to start.

Good advice. I got money on a/c clutch locked up!
