Hi, everyone new here but ive owned my jeep, wrangler 2018 jk, for about 6-7yrs without much issue. Ive recently had my ABS lights come on along with my traction lights on my dashboard. After driving about a month or two with those lights on the check engine light came on, and now my speed o meter is sitting at zero and the transmission wont shift out of first gear. I brought my jeep to a few shops, which indicated the abs needs to be changed but they dont do the service. So I brought my jeep to the dealership which diagnosed the abs module as well but due to the jeep being a 2018 model they have no eta on the part. My biggest question if anyone could shed some light for me on this matter if they have had a similar experience with their abs module going out and causing problems with shifting? Also would anyone know if I can find my own salvaged abs module would I need to have the new abs flashed in order to resolve the shifting issue? Any info would be appreciated! The dealership offered to give me some trade in value for my jeep but id rly like to get it back running if possible.

Welcome to the forum! The ABS module issues you're experiencing are not uncommon and can definitely lead to transmission shifting problems. The ABS and traction control systems are heavily integrated with the transmission control system in modern vehicles, and when there’s a fault, it can cause issues like being stuck in first gear.

Regarding your question about salvaged ABS modules, it's definitely possible to find one that might work for your Jeep. However, you will most likely need to have it flashed to match your vehicle's VIN and ensure it communicates correctly with the rest of the vehicle’s systems. I'd suggest contacting @Wranglerfix (wranglerfix.com) as he can test / repair it for you.

As for your issue with the check engine light and speedometer, I recommend scanning for fault codes if you haven't already. This can help pinpoint exactly what’s causing the issues and may give you some additional direction.

If the dealership is giving you trade-in value, it could be tempting, but if you're attached to your Jeep and it has served you well, it might be worth holding onto it and troubleshooting these issues further.

Hang in there, and best of luck with getting your Jeep back to its prime! Keep us posted on what you decide to do!
