I’m looking to swap out my 3.6 for a V8. Leaning towards GM for the transmission options. Not a fan of the mopar 5 speed.

So far I like what Motech is offering. The 6.2 LS is a great value but has the 6 speed with 4.0 first gear. Not bad, but I’d really like to go with the 6.2 LT with the 8 or 10 speed mor power and lower 1st gear, but not sure if it’s worth 10k

Anybody driven both and compared?

Going with more HP and weight and if you offroad you might want to think about 1 ton axles also.

I personally don't know much about either engine but it's really easy now days to make more power form one of them. Just get into the ECM and make adjustment will give you quite a bit more seat of the pants.

I was thinking if I was ever to repower i'd go with a 4.3 GM engine or a 4bt Cummins.

I have Prorock 60’s and 40’s. 5.38 gears. Superchip hi octane tune on the 3.6. Power is decent, but I want the low end torque from V8

I've done several LS swaps into TJs, YJs, SJs, and we;ve done a few cars. They are plentiful, easy to tune and wire.

However for my JK I'll be doing a 2010ish 5.7 and auto. Only because of the integration issues with the GM canbus. I think both will get similar power for the upgrades, but the LS will be cheaper to do. But the install will be more money due to the conversino harness for the GM.

Yep, X2 to to this.

If you want to tune and have more aftermarket options, the LS is the better choice. But for integration and more than enough power as it is, a Hemi is a better choice IMHO.
