Any suggestions on how to fix removable top panels that are stripped out and the locking screw knobs no longer lock panels securely down? I tried a tap and die set but I believe I made it worse. Has anyone dealt with this and can suggest a hack?

Can you post a picture of what happened?

Both the screw and the nut that's up inside is stripped. Is there a way to replace the nut thats inside? I believe when I tried to use a tap and die, I used the wrong ones and made it worse. Not for sure if I was using imperial or metric.

pretty sure the nuts up there are welded into the frame.

That being said, I don't think I've put those things back in for a few years.

Mine are laying on the bench at home. Put them aside and don't worry about them

mrjp is right.
Those screws are needed only if you want to use the freedom panels without the back part of the roof on.
Otherwise it is usually recommended to Not tighten them as the pressure could cause leaks.

The nut is spot welded into the roll bar and can be replaced, but you'll have to dismantle the soundbar to get at it.
