Hello my name is Kyle. I am new here. I have a Jeep TJ but I'm helping a friend's son with his JK.

He is having a no crank no start issue. I went to help him jump start his Jeep The other day day and thought to check the wires before hooking the jumper box up.

Putting the key in the ignition seemed like there was no power at all to the starter. Not just a dead battery.. when checking the wires, I wiggled the blue wire on the positive and heard something that sounded like a computer click on n the engine compartment. After that I tried the key and it started right up.

I believe the blue wire is a alternator fusible link but don't know why that would affect the Jeep having a no cranking issue?

Does anyone have a part number for the fusible link?

Also, does anyone have a wiring diagram for the engine bay? Thanks in advance

Is the JK a Auto or Manual trans?

If it's a Auto the shift cable ends could be bad and it's not going into Park so that the system knows it's in Park. Have you tried to start it in Neutral? Or tried to wiggle the shifter around while trying to start it?

Is there a little red dot on in the upper right side of the cluster when the key is turned to run? If So the Key FOB's battery could be bad.

Welcome to the forum! Get rid of those junk terminals. Wiggling the blue fusible link alternator wire might of wiggled that terminal enough to start it. I had no start issues. Thought the terminals were tight because all the nuts were tight but the terminals weren't tight enough to the battery posts. Replaced my terminals and no issues ever since.

Awesome thank you for the info. I will pass it on to him and we will get new terminals

It is a auto trans. I don't think it has to do with the shifter as when I wiggle that fusible link it starts up every time. I haven't noticed the Red Dot in the dash cluster yet. I will look for that next time it does it. Thank you

As a test/interim action you can loosen the terminals and take a socket and hammer and tap them down to make sure they are seated all the way on the terminal. Looks like your positive terminal isn't all the way down to me. Ultimately they should be replaced, though.
