Does anyone have experience with the lifetime warranties that they were giving on the early JKs? I have a 2008 that i bough new so original owner which was one of the requirements, and now that its getting old, i know things are going to start going out so im wondering how much of a hassle im going to get from the dealer. I have been doing the 'check ups' every 5 years as it states in the contract and all maintenance has been done by the dealer. Now im getting in to crunch time where i know something will go wrong and trying to prepare for some push back. Thanks

Oh yes, followed it to the T. But i cant just believe they are going to start rebuilding the jeep, engine, trans, etc, without some kind of fight. It is a chrysler warranty they were selling in 2008 when they were having the financial difficulties. So not a 3rd party, or at least nothing other than chrysler mentioned in the warranty.
Just wondering if anyone else has had any major work done under that warranty and what their experience was. I did have about $2k worth of work done a couple years ago on the cv joints and a couple other things and they didnt balk, but just wondering when something really breaks what they will do. thx

Mopar fucked themselves sideways by offering that lifetime warranty. So many people bought it with the intention of never selling the vehicle, that they caught on and stopped offering it. It's a hell of a deal, and my understanding is that they are basically obligated to fix anything and everything for as long as Mopar continues to make parts for them.

The downside is that it's not really lifetime, because auto manufacturers are only required to produce parts for a vehicle for at least 10 years after it ceases production. The good news though is that since the JK ended in 2018, you have basically until 2028 until Mopar still is legally obligated to support them and continue making parts. Add another 10 or more years onto that that you'll still be able to get leftover old stock parts, and you're basically going to have a long, long time of warranty.
