hi new here and a new jeeper! Just wondering thoughts on a 2.5 inch lift Kit for a stock Jeep Wrangler jk 2016 with 35x12.5R20 tires and 20x10 wheels, I’m debating on a lift kit with spacers or springs?

You'll need some wheel spacers also.

2.5" lift you'll probably get away with it if it's just a daily driver, you could put some flay top fenders on and gain some more clearance.

I just went thru this after adding 35 X 12.5 X 22's. I had a local 4X4 shop do the work, they were highly recommended and know what they are doing. I was debating leveling kit or lift. Went with the 2.5" lift and I'm glad I did. I only have 49K on my 15' JK (2 dr soft top) but the new shocks make a big difference. This is the kit I went with. https://www.extremeterrain.com/rough-country-25-suspension-jk-perf678.html Very happy with it so far.

If you are planning on off-roading do not go with 20" wheels, you want to be able to air down a bit, and the lower profile wheels really limit off road capability. 17" wheels are the gold standard for JKs. Even stock saharas come with only 18" wheels.

If it is just a fun convertible then it doesn't matter.

what you are going to have to worry about no matter what wheels you go with is the backspacing. I'm a big proponent of "wheel spacers are bad" because you add a component that can fail and there is no way to check tightness without taking the tires off.

Here is the website I use to determine wheel and tire things. They have a number of tools if you check the other tabs.
