question-

out of the blue my rubi has a lot of play steering left. right is normal. when turning left i have much play in the steering. haven’t wheeled or trailed in a long while. haven’t hit any curbs. there is a leak in my axle seal as can be seen in pics. i do check it regularly and keep it full. i did rotate the tires and no change. my only guess, could it be the steering gear/sector shaft??? i’m really clueless and can’t afford to put it in the shop let alone wait the nearly month to get it seen.

If your steering gearbox has to much play then there is a screw on the top with a lock nut, just turn it in a little until the play is gone.
