I have a 08 Jeep Wrangler I recently had it in the shop for other issues and the code came on for the module being bad. So, I was able to find a mopar part 68030936AB and I replaced it. The issue I am having is doing the in initialization. I Have the OBD JScan app and paid for the license for the vin for my jeep. I was going through the steps that It prompts you. I get all to the part where it takes off the ESP BAS light and just the ABS is flashing and dinging. The last step that it requires me to do is the 90 degree turn, complete stop, and drive the 50 feet and then to continue to drive. I come back and I hit complete once I do that and the scanner tool just keeps saying it is communicating and doesn't actually complete the programing. I am not sure if it's because of how I am doing it. I come back to the house I have put it in park and left it running and then hitting complete. I have tried turning it to where it is just on the first click and then hitting complete and still nothing. I am not sure if there is an added step or some trick to getting it done that someone knows.

How many times have you tried this process with it failing?

It doesn't necessarily say it fails it just keeps cycling through the last portion of the initialization and it says that there is no response. I have tried it 3 times before giving up. My thing is after doing the last drive cycle with the turn and stop and drive 50 ft I don't know if I am supposed to leave the car running in park and then hit proceed or do it while I am still driving or have the car turned off. As the prompts don't really tell you.

From what you've described, the likely issue may be related to timing during initialization. After completing the driving portion, you should ideally:

1. Keep the vehicle running after the drive cycle is done.
2. Shift into Park and make sure the vehicle is stationary.
3. Wait a moment before attempting to hit "complete" on the JScan app.

Also, a few things to check:

- Make sure that your battery voltage is adequate; a low battery can affect communication with the ABS module.
- Ensure that your OBDII connector is securely plugged in and there is no physical damage.
- Sometimes, resetting the app or even performing a power cycle on your vehicle (turning it off, waiting a minute, and then turning it back on) can help.

Let us know how it goes!
