2007 JK overheats

I have a 2007 JK wrangler. Its started overheating. I seem to be losing coolant but theres no obvious leak, at least not obvious to me. I have replaced the heater core and flushed the coolant system, including flushing the heater core. I have also replaced the radiator and water pump. Any ideas?
 
Howdy, you can pressure test the cooling system, or have it done to identify whether or not the system is 100% sealed. Did you replace the thermostat when you changed out the other components? If not, I would recommend doing that - I always drill a very small hole in the thermostat housing to allow air to easily be bleed from the system.

When you say "overheating", are you actually steaming over or are you just using the gauge?

The temp senders are known to fail at some point in their life. Unless you're steaming over, I would question your gauge accuracy...

I forgot to ask if you have used another form of testing the temperature? I use a laser thermometer... Also, and probably a silly question, is the cooling fan switching on?

I have a 2017 Jeep Wrangler Sahara JK that was experiencing overheating issues. I replaced the radiator, water pump, and thermostat twice, but the problem persisted. After taking it to the dealership for a diagnostic, I was informed that the thermostat was defective. The first two thermostats I installed were aftermarket parts, which did not allow the engine to cool properly. I then replaced the thermostat with an OEM Mopar part, and since then, the engine temperature has returned to normal.

I took it to a shop I trust. They're saying the heater hoses at the firewall are torn badly. I don't know how that happened. I'll attach their note. They want to charge me 700 to replace them, is it that difficult?

I didn't know that the 2017 heater hoses were gold plated, I don't have a JK that new to know what they look like but you need to find another Mechanic I think.

I'm guessing theyre charging me 100 for the hoses and the rest is labor. I saw a video on how to do it. It doesn't look so bad, have to remove the intake

If they are just ordinary heater hose they don't even cost near that much, probably about $20 dollars or so.
 
$700 is absurd to replace hoses. Even if they're doing a complete drain and fill.
 
Got it done. I did end up taking off the top part of the intake. I tried to do it without taking ot off but I just could get my ham hands behind the engine. My heater has never worked since I've had this. I replaced the radiator, the heater core, flushed the system and no heat. I decided to try the heater after replacing the.hoses and,.miracle of miracles,, heat!

How much did it cost you altogether?

The hoses were 80 for the pair, and yes, they were molded to the exact shape of the originals. The intake gaskets were 54, on top of the diagnosis from the shop of 136. All in i was at $270. The 136 would gave been on top of their $700 quote. I will say it took me an entire day. I went very slow since it was my first time doing it. I'm always over cautious when doing something new to a vehicle. Plus, I wasted a lot of time trying to get the old hoses off with out taking off the intake.
