Our TJ had factory flaps on the front, and I found a set for the rear to cut down on the dirt & debris that was getting all over our gear on the hitch-mounted rack.
Our '15 JKU has no mud flaps and it's white, so I was looking at mud flap options for it.
What I found were several options for the front, but none that I liked. They all look like cheap junk.
While investigating options for the rear, I learned that most of them tied into the factory bumper ends.

Having an aftermarket rear bumper, I decided to look into making my own.
This meant figuring out a way to mount them, that wasn't going to look like I had thrown the JC Whitney catalog at it.

I had a great plan and a bit of effort into it, but the project fell off my plate and I have resolved myself to the fact that these tires are simply going to throw mud and such all over anyway.

BTW, the TJ has clear bra material applied to the fronts of the fenders and the fronts of the rear wheel arches.
Not sure what brand it is, but it has shrunk and cracked apart and it really looks like garbage now.
I have no idea how old the stuff is, as it was on the vehicle when my wife bought it 10+ years ago.

I've had estimates as high as $200 to have a detailer remove it.

In short, while there are options to reduce rock & debris damage to these areas, the effort and cost isn't really worth it (IMO) compared to just washing it off when it gets too dirty for you to take.

Can we have some dialogue on the PPF? I think my front fenders have a clear something or other on them, I would like to do the same on the rear fenders.

To put it in context, how old is that PPF?

I have no idea how old the stuff is, as it was on the vehicle when my wife bought it 10+ years ago.

This is what I have on my genright front fenders, not sure how old it is but it is very clear and almost non visible.

I guess not rust proof?

If you are referring to the last pic (gray fender) in my post, that is adhesive leaching out with sand stuck to it. It seems very rust proof so far.
