Hello everyone.

I am new to this form, and to being a Jeep Wrangler owner. I recently purchased a 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited sport. The issue i am having is that when I turn on my rear wiper switch, the front wipers come on. Only the front wipers! When I turn on the rear washer, the rear wiper will work, but only when you use the washer. Has anyone else had this issue? I am guessing that there is a problem with the wiper switch.

Welcome! Hmmmm...since owning my Jeep, I can honestly say I've never once used my rear wiper. Now I have to try it and see what it does or if it even works!

Obviously this isn’t a one-off issue if multiple people are having the exact same problem. No one seems to have an explanation that I’ve found.

Is it possible the issues is in or close to the quick connect plug that is used when hard top is removed. Maybe a pinched cable near the connector or maybe the connector itself needs some attention.

Try unplugging the connector and see if the problem in the front wipers goes away.

I am new to JK’s so my opinion is not from experience.

Drove in the rain today so got to find other symptoms.
Turning on the rear wiper runs the front wipers. New discovery is that after a short time the front wipers stop. So now the rear wiper switch is still on and no wipers are running. If I pull the stalk for front washer the rear wiper runs, but the washers do not spray.
Turning off the rear wipers makes everything at the front work normally.

I'd stop using the rear wiper at this point. I've honestly never used my rear wiper in the 3-4 years I've owned it.

Same problem. Rear wiper works great in mist, but otherwise operates front wiper. Tipm and stalk have both been replaced. Jscan shows it active, and connector looks good. Anyone find a fix?

HERE IS WHAT MY PROBLEM WAS... MY ISSUE ENDED UP BEING THE TURN SIGNAL/ HEAD LIGHT SWITCH. THE WIPER SWITCH PLUGS INTO THE TURN SIGAL SWITCH FIRST THEN THAT SWICH PLUGS INTO THE MAIN HARNESS
