120VAC inverters on the trail

Sorry @WSS 😂

Sounds like it will be a nice system, though!!

Ya, now your gonna have to hold my hand through the project!

I love rock crawling and tough trails but also like the overlanding aspect of trail readiness. It is often the case to pass rock crawlers on the trail taking a break and sitting on rocks while eating packaged sandwiches. All good but cooking out on the trail is awesome, being able to brew some coffee, etc.

Sorry I missed this. I'm planning on an outside Renogy 100w solar panel mounted onto a Renogy 28" adjustable solar bracket. This will be mounted to my roof cross rails. The cables will be ran inside to the rear and into a Renogy Wanderer Li40 with a Renogy Bluetooth RJ12. I will have 100w ANL fuses for each positive wire. I got a stupid deal on 3 12v 100ah LIFePO4 Lithium batteries so I'm going to give them a try. As far as a inverters, I got 2 Vanner Inc. TS12-3000's I received for free from work. One was new in the box and the other was wired up but I'm not sure it was even used. We'll see how it works. Hopefully in the next few weeks it's not 12°F outside and I can start this project.

do you plan to use more than one 100ah lifpo4 battery? Sounds like a very good setup. The lifepo4's charge faster too. 100w panel is a good balance for a 100ah battery.

Thanks. I think I'll start with the 2 and if I need more, then I'll hook up my 3rd.

Received the inverter! Took a while to get it, but looks like it is worth the wait. Bigger than I expected but it will fit fine. I have two projects ahead of it. I will post some install pics when I get to it.

A little follow up on the 1k inverter. I found a good location for this beast, under the back set middle, right over the sloping trans hump. Should go in easy enough. The inverter itself will have one receptacle available. It will also have the remote on/off and one receptacle at the back tailgate somewhere to be determined.

Here is the cover of the box I will use for the rear access:

I milled the slots for the receptacle and inverter control, the receptacle was a little wiggly, so I epoxied the back:

Here is the other half of the box:

I got the project boxes off of amazon:
