i have a gas leak i can smell it when i park my jeep in the garage i don't see any gas on the ground but i can smell it and it smells like it is coming underneath. any known spots for a potential gas leak i have a 2017 jk any help would be appreciated i checked the fast cap seal. and i don't see any issues with the tank itself

Could it maybe be coming from the fuel injectors? I'm not sure, but I've heard they can sometimes cause small leaks. Might be worth checking out if you're comfortable poking around under the hood.

I have the same issue on my 2015. I replaced the EVAP cannister and the smell continued. A quick GOOG search shows that the fuel pump - or gasket between the fuel pump and the tank - can deteriorate and leak. I told the dealer about this today and after $300 in diagnostic fees, they "could not find the issue". I'll have a privateer look and see what they can find.

I'm dealing with the same issue with my daughter's Islander (2010). You occasionally get a stinky fuel smell. Sometimes you can go for days and smell nothing. Other times I can smell it as soon as I walk out the house.

I'm installing a Motobilt/TJ tank in my JKU this spring, so I'll swap my tank for hers. While it's down, I do intend to at least understand why hers is smelling. Since I won't want to break the seal on my pump, I'll drop her tank first and steal her pump for my Motobilt tank. I'll be sure to get a new seal in anticipation...

Follow up on my gas smell - My privateer (who generally works on Audi's and Porsches) did not want to take on dropping tank, etc in his home shop. Two dealers have looked at it and could not diagnose the smell. Pressure tests, etc. Funny thing is since the second round of tests, the smell is gone. I haven't smelled it since. No codes thrown, no CEL. A complete mystery.
