Hey I'm new here to the forum. I just bought a 2008 Jk Wrangler X 2 door with 144k miles on it for 9000 dollars when I was living in Florida for college. It came with a multitude of issues but it was a really good price for a rust free Jeep Wrangler. When I bought it it had an oil leak upper and lower pans as well as valve covers, Misfires on 3 cylinders, 2 cracked manifolds and missing manifold bolts, and a failing catalytic converter.

I fixed the misfires by changing the plugs and coil packs.
I Fixed the leaks with new gaskets

Then I decided to tackle the p0420 and p0430 codes. I started with the manifolds. I replaced them both with new gaskets, brand new bolts and manifolds. I cleared the code and after a few miles it came back. So I replaced the o2 sensors. Two front heated ones and the 2 rear regular ones. Codes came back again. Then I bought a cat off of Amazon that people had good luck with on the forums. I replaced the original with the one off Amazon. The codes came back again. There were clogs in the original cats (Which was expected due to how badly it was treated before I owned it IDK how long it was misfiring for.) There are no leaks in the exhaust that are visible or audible. I welded the cat and everything. The code just came back yesterday. I put spark plug de fowlers on the 2 second sensors to see if that would help with the code. The code came back again. I did real time data on the car to see if that would tell me anything.

Do the front ones need to be heated? When I replaced mine originally There was two different types for the front vs the back.

No idea if they are heated I just looked them up on the Website and ordered them, they give the locations with the PN for each.

Just had a bout with the po430 code a few months ago. Went ahead and installed 4 new NTK sensors because I needed to anyway. They are heated by the way. Be sure to get the correct ones for your model. There is a link on this forum with the correct numbers. Still coded. Tried cat cleaner which is useless. Got tired of wasting money so I ordered 2 of the O2 spacers from the Walmart website and installed on the downstream sensors $15.00. Left the CEL on just to make sure they worked. After 3 cold starts light when out and has never came back on. Jeep still runs perfect. No emissions testing in W.Va so no worries. CEL lights drive me APE SH$$$. 🍺🍺

23159 ntk for both of your downstream sensors. 23566 upstream left. 25186 upstream right. Those are what u need for your 2008. They are all heated. 🍺🍺

I'm dealing with the same issue and trying to understand it all! What exactly does the spacers do in this instance? I'm in Texas but where I am, we don't have the emissions crap either. Thought about just removing them all together but haven't decided yet because I'd have the CEL 24/7.

We have a 2011 JK and it appears to be the same part #s as you posted above...

The O2 Foolers move the O2's farther back from the exhaust stream so that it doesn't get as much exhaust to test. They do work because i'm using them for my high flow Cats.

Also the CEL light being on isn't that big of a deal mines on all the time since I deleted my EGR.

Thanks for that info!

IS it worth deleting the EGR stuff on this? Help them run better or > New to these jeeps but so far loving it....

What year is your Jeep I know on the 3.8's if you remove your TB and stick your finger into the manifold your finger will come out with a black tar like stuff on it. The only thing the EGR does is take some exhaust from no 6 exhaust and put it into the intake manifold.
