Got this 2016 JK Rubicon Unlimited used a couple years ago from a dealer here in town. Had 35k miles on it, now has 68k on it. Been a good buy, and fun too! Never left us high and dry which makes me happy. This part is where I explain how dumb it is to ignore strange sounds coming from your vehicle! Noticed a few days ago grinding noise coming from the brakes. It sounded like there was sand or dust, which has happened to me on other vehicles. Even though the noise troubled me, I ignored it. Yesterday, we're pulling out of the driveway, and the brake pedal goes to the floor. That's strange I think to myself. I pump the brakes a couple times.....and nada, no brakes. Get it back into the garage, we're in a hurry and start to pull away in our truck. I glance at the driveway and see brake fluid pooling under the right rear wheel, and then notice a brake pad laying in the driveway! The right brake pads, rotor, and cylinder are completely destroyed. Left side is completely normal. Never ignore what your vehicle is telling you.
