Does my 10th Anniversary JK have HID headlights? I noticed I have a sticker inside the drives side door jam that says:

"This vehicle may include mercury - added devices installed by the manufacturer: * Video Display * Navigation/Camera Display, * H.I.D Headlamps..."

So does that mean I have HID or is it just a generic sticker?

HID is just anther way of saying Xenon, and would be about the bulb itself I think. It is not the same as LED headlights. The housing you have is just standard JK. I think that sticker might have just been generic one for all vehicles.

So is everyone in agreement these are just the halogen bulbs. Do I understand that correctly?

I have HID/Xenon in my car. They are clearly marked as 35w xenon bulbs on the back of the housing (I just replaced one this fall). Outside of the door decal I didn't see much evidence on the JK that these are HID bulbs. But the crome cover over the bulb kind of throws me off.

If you check any auto parts supplier in the US, their web site will tell you that the bulb is a halogen.

But they're crap, regardless, so you should at least consider replacing the whole thing with a quality LED unit.

LOL. Hey coming from a stock TJ/LJ, these JK halogens are pretty awesome. But I did install some LEDs into my LJ a couple years ago and I love the LEDS. The JK lights are indeed crap compared to the LEDS for sure. Surprisingly, I felt my JK lights had similar light output to my Maxima which I know has HID since I just replaced it.

Now that I know the JK is actually a halogen bulb, I won't feel bad about replacing it with an LED in the future. If it was HID, I was concerned it might create additional difficulties and not gain as much benefit. Thanks guys.
