I bought a new top and it has clips on the side. Installed awhile back but just drove jeep 400 mikes. During the ride the top would rise while drive by the where the first fold back is located. I had no issues with this part of the old I replaced. Do I need to replace the hardware for this so it can tucked in and what kind hardware replacement do I need

A bit more information is needed.

Four or two door? What year of jeep?

What type of top do you have? I'm assuming it's OEM, however over the years of the JK there were a few different tops but until I get answers to the above I will just talk about the two primary ones.

2007-2010 tops had a plastic strip that tucked into the door surrounds, similar to the way the rear side windows work on the bottom. This is also the way TJ (1997-2006) tops worked.

2011-2018 tops use a tensioning cable (hidden from view) to hold the edges down. The rear window is also wider.

Each version has it's own type of door surround and hardware. These are not interchangeable at all. It doesn't matter what year jeep anything goes on, but the tops must use the hardware from the specific version.

I put a brand new (OEM) soft top on my 4DR JK 2010. I undid the clips at the front and from what I’ve seen the top should push right up. It’s not coming loose and I don’t want to break it. Any advice?

The sides at the front just past the clips most likely tuck under the the lip at the top of your window brackets. Mine does on my 08.

You put the top together or had a shop do it? Where did you get the top? What is the mopar number?

If you got a early model soft top that they changed for the 2011 model. Starting that year the front was held down by a hidden cable. Before that, there were the plastic clips or channels into the door surround. These need to be popped out before the top will open.
