Hello my name is Brandon england and I am new to the forum I recently picked up a 2008 jeep Wrangler Rubicon 2 door. It was in a wreck and did roll over from black ice but currently does run and drive. But I'm in search of parts preferably used and on a budget I'll post pics and show everyone what I'm working with. Please don't comment if your gonna say it not worth the time or it's junk etc. It my project and doesnt have to be completed right away.

Hey it came with a free fender delete kit. I kid.

A hardtop will be hard to come by used and/or cheap.

What else is wrong with it besides some panel issues? Is that rear axle pushed towards driver side or is that just an illusion?

You can get new fender panels for $150-$200 each I think. Omix and some other people make em.

What's the long term build plan look like? Daily driver...trail rig...back to stock...

I have intentions on putting aftermarket fenders bumpers with spot to put winch it and prob lol lift kit to put bigger tires and wanna use as daily bit also if I wanna go out fishing and stuff not worry bout denting it up and it could handle it

Yeah mine wasn't wrecked when I got it but it had been rode hard and put up wet (an '07). Put about a year and a half into it to get it better than it's probably ever been.

You can get a 07-11 version set up good if you don't go over a 2.5" lift and 35's and it doesn't break the bank. Looks like that one isn't a Rubicon so you're dealing with that Dana 30 up front.

Problem you're going to run into with larger tires on a 07-11 though is the gearing. Mine had 4.10's (auto trans) and it was a dog going up hills. After I put 5.13's in it the clouds parted and angels sang and I couldn't be happier with the result.

You can pick up a new set of OEM'ish rear control arms from Crown for about $175 for all 4.

I'd throw a soft top on it and call it a day. Unless you get real lucky you're looking at about $3k for a hard top.

Mine is a Rubicon I'll run vin on it to make sure but that what I was told only gave 700 for it mine is a 6 speed manual with 3.8

That's great! You'll be able to get away with a lot more having a 44 in front and a manual with the gearing issues. Not sure but I think the Rubi's were 4.10s.

For what you paid for it you could build that thing out as a nice trail rig. I don't mind some dings on mine either. It's a Jeep. Just gives it more character lol

Yep tells story bout where it been and where it will go now I just gotta find parts for reasonable prices
Look on Craigslist and FB Marketplace. I bought a set of Mopar Rubicon rock rails for less than $150.....exact price escapes me, but way cheaper than new. Ive sold and gave away lot of my stock parts on CL. So be sure to check that out.

Great buy @700 bills! And with a manual, that's the way to go with the 3.8 engine.

Cheers

Body panels and the top are pretty reasonable and easy fixes, especially if you just go with a soft top.

My first priority would be the frame and drivetrain. Have a good frame shop run the dimensions and make sure it's still straight. If the impact was enough to bend the control arms, check all of the attachment points for the suspension all the way around.

Insurance adjuster once told me the best way to inspect a roll-over vehicle is from the bottom up.

I see factory fenders, control arms and tops all the time on Craigslist. If your going to be putting bigger tires on it and offroading just put some flat top fenders on it.

As said above, would not waste time and $$$ until you determine drivability, frame, driveline alignment. Have you driven it?
There are salvage yards and used parts finder to help

Well I replaced control arms and shocks track bar mount to rear axle needs replaced anyone where I could get factory replacement

Do you mean the welded axle side bracket?

Barnes 4wd makes one for about $50 I think that you can get welded on. It works for both stock and has multiple holes built in to support lifts. Lot beefier than the stock mount too.
