What is the largest spare tire size that can be mounted with a 17" OEM wheel?

Stock wheels with LT285/70R17 121/118R, load range C, BFG KO2 will rub the front sway bar on lock to lock turns on our 2012 with no lift. The back bumper is from AEV with tire carrier so spare size is no concern. Our 2007 with no lift has the stock rear bumper. We know the LT285/70R17 is too large for the 2007 stock bumper and stock spare tire mount. Does anyone know the largest tire size that will mount on the 2007 and clear the bumper?
So you shared a bunch of info, and from what I could gather the 285/70/r17s with stock wheels fit on your 2012 just fine? Are you using wheel spacers? I tried that once, and my stock wheels with that size couldn't even be mounted on the jeep, they impacted the frame.
So you have tried to put one of the tires from the 12 onto the 07's spare tire mount right? and it didn't fit. I'm making sure that you actually tried and this isn't just somebody telling you that because I've worked in customer service. Have you tried mounting these on the Jeep itself?
I'm asking these questions because your description doesn't fit with the problems I've had, so I'm trying to parse out why.
Mine is four door by the way, that may make a difference.

I have 285/70R17 on stock wheels and it clears my bumper just fine. On the hubs I have 1.25” spacers with no rubbing. 2009

You should be good to go. At the very least you may have to shim your steering stops because of slight rubbing during tight turns.
