A raucous Texas beach event known as "Go Topless Jeep Weekend" ended with two people hospitalized following a shooting and nearly 200 others arrested on various charges.

Trochesset said a majority of those arrested don't own Jeeps. "I can't blame it on the Jeep clubs," the sheriff said.

I say "if" only the babes keeps the guns holstered in their waists as they go topless, I bet there is less violence :)

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

While most Jeepers are good people to be around in small groups, when you get large groups of Jeepers together like this, the douche bags very quickly make themselves known, and turn what should be a fun event into drama.

I've seen it so many times before, and it never ceases to amaze me. These big events almost always spell some sort of trouble, and it's very unfortunate that every big event always has to have "those people" who stir things up.

They don't deserve to own Jeeps IMHO.
 
When I saw the news report on the event I pretty much facepalmed. That was plainly a damn stupid idiot move they did.
 
I’ve yet to go to my first Jeep event although there is one this weekend I’m thinking about. Probably nothing crazy like this one but....damn that’s a shame
 
We used to go every year and would have a great time. Up until about 2 years ago we stopped going due to the madness! Between the hours of 8am and about 3pm aren't too bad, but if your not prepared to for the BS then you better get out. The trash left behind on the beach when they all start clearing out is sickening too. Last year the locals did a great job of recognizing the one or two jeep clubs that stayed behind and picked up the trash that they could. The people that have been going have turned out to be straight trash and there are ALOT of those younger crowds coming in from Houston. (Nothing against Houston) There just isn't enough law enforcement to keep the crazy down. It was fun for some years, but a little to wild for me now
 
Been there a lot in the late 80's and early 90's and went back there in 2015. Big change of crowd!
I think the difference is that our generation was more modest and disciplined by our parents.
We don't even clean up when the day is over - there is no trash to clean.

Now the crowd feels that they are privileged.

Funny how everybody these days seems privileged and they’re owed something but don’t want to take responsibility for their actions.
 
There are a few big Jeep clubs around Arkansas. From what I have seen the big ones really don’t even go out and use their Jeeps. They all go sit in a parking lot or grass field, get drunk, and do stupid stuff. Those same groups also like to charge insane dues to be apart of their drunken club.

I have found that I just find select people to go off-roading with, ones that I can trust.
